Day 01 :

Addis Ababa to Arba Minch

Morning flight or scenic drive to Arba Minch, gateway to the Omo Valley. In the afternoon, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo to spot large crocodiles and hippos at the aptly named 'Crocodile Market'. Overnight in Arba Minch.

Day 02 :

Arba Minch to Jinka via Konso

Drive south through the Konso villages, a UNESCO-listed cultural landscape known for terraced farming and carved wooden grave markers (waga). Continue to Jinka, the main town of the South Omo Zone. Overnight in Jinka.

Day 03 :

Mago National Park – Mursi Village Visit

Full day excursion into Mago National Park to visit a Mursi village, known worldwide for the striking lip plates worn by the women. Your guide will explain local customs and help arrange a respectful, welcomed visit. Overnight in Jinka.

Day 04 :

Jinka to Turmi via Key Afer Market

Travel to Turmi, stopping along the way at Key Afer on market day (Thursdays) to see Bena and Tsemai people trading cattle, grain, and honey. Overnight in Turmi, home of the Hamar people.

Day 05 :

Turmi – Hamar Village & Local Market

Visit a nearby Hamar village to learn about their daily life, jewellery, and traditions. If your travel dates coincide with a bull-jumping ceremony, a rite of passage into manhood, you may have the rare chance to witness it. Visit Turmi's colourful Monday market. Overnight in Turmi.

Day 06 :

Return to Addis Ababa

Drive or fly back towards Addis Ababa, arriving with wonderful memories of one of Africa's most fascinating cultural regions.
